Terry Lilley and Vince Shay have created a wonderful film of the underwater life found on California’s central coast. The topic focuses on the fish species of the kelp forests and the general ecology of that marine environment. While this is not about kayak diving, or kayak fishing, it will be of great interest both divers and anglers. Terry describes the many fish species, their role in the kelp forest, what they eat, and what eats them. Terry’s narration is very educational, speaking with the authority of years as a waterman and an academic. A viewing of this film should get one automatic college credits in marine biology. The quality of the video is very high; the fish and kelp forests are quite clearly visible, in sharp focus and well presented. Vince has done a wonderful job of knitting together an entertaining and informative show. I am very much looking forward to more films from this pair. If you are interested in marine biology, fishing, diving, scuba, spear fishing, environmentalism or nature in general, than this video is for you.
