Day Tripper Paddle

Review by Tom Holtey (Shop proprietor) Carlisle has made significant improvements on their kayak paddles in the 1st decade of the 21st century. The Day Tripper, as the name indicates, is for recreational kayaking and day trips. This is not an expedition or performance paddle. I give it 3 stars because for an aluminum shaft paddle this one is fairly good, decent in price and lightweight. However I would not call this a truly great paddle. The aluminum shaft and the plastic blades are not what you look for in a quality touring paddle. An aluminum shaft will be cold in your hands and inflexible. The combination of the aluminum shaft and the plastic blades does not spell out a durable paddle either. The primary reason to buy this paddle is price. The secondary reason to buy this paddle, over other brands in the same price range, is a good blade shape. If you do not paddle very much, or have a multi user beach boat this paddle is for you.
