Review by Tom Holtey (Shop proprietor)
This is probably the best-suited rudder system for rough use than any other I have had a chance to try. A rudder will aid in touring as the Pro likes to paddle into the wind; the rudder will help with a following sea with wind and wves from behind. This rudder will also greatly enhance maneuverability in the surf zone, so much so that you will actually look for opportunities to surf your Pro. It is one of the very few rudders that can handle being broached in the surf with out bending or breaking.
As many of you know I paddle a Scupper Pro (2 hatch) as one of my primary kayaks. I tell about my decision to add a rudder to my Pro in the article: “When To Get A Rudder & How To Use It”
