The most notable feature of the TopKayaker roof rack straps is the high quality cam buckle. The spring says sprung and the cam moves freely, it just keeps on working. I don’t rinse them all the time, just when I think they have gotten salty, maybe a dab of WD-40 once a year. The other good feature is the bungee tie for the excess strap. I used to wrap and tie off the extra any way I could, or put up with the flapping and fraying, but these straps cinch up the slack easy. The cam buckles have a neoprene cover; nice to have when you are tossing straps over the roof of the car. Only down side is that you have to roll them out of the way to access the cam buckle.
