Review by Tom Holtey Shop Proprietor: This is a copy of the Valley Canoe Products (VCP) hatch cover, made in Finland by Kajak Sport. It will fit perfectly onto any kayak that was originally outfitted with a VCP cover. It is Rot Proof. It will NOT Float. The best reason to purchase this is for a kayak that is very well sealed, no water or even air leaks. The supple rubber will flex when air in the kayak expands (on a hot sand beach or car top) or when air contracts (on the cold ocean water). This change in air pressure will cause less supple hatch covers to “burp” open with expanding hot air. The hotter the climate the more likely. If you are a serious sea kayaker, who wants super high quality and a Rot Proof hatch cover this would be your best choice.
