Mohawk Foot Brace Rails, 17 in.

These rails were a blessing and a curse. The blessing part was that they were the only Werner compatible rails I could find that were 17 inch. This made a HUGE difference in my ability to fit in my kayak. The curse part was the quality of the manufacturing. These are just terrible. They are definitely NOT Yakima/Werner equipment. My 15 inch rails were the real deal, and there is no comparison. While my Werner foot braces did fit these rails, the machining on these 17 inchers was just terrible. All the screw holes had to be cleaned and re-tapped. The slots that hold the foot peg in place are DANGEROUSLY ill-formed. I can only imagine what would happen if you were out on the water when your foot brace decided to change position on you. Almost all of the slots were too small or too shallow to fully seat the peg from the foot brace. Note that they were also all different, so some worked and some didn't. Many of them had globs of aluminum from the milling just left there, preventing the foot brace from moving smoothly down the rail as it should. It took me about 3 hours of grinding, drilling, and tapping to make these functional. They worked great after this, but this was a ridiculous amount of work for a new purchase. I would not recommend these unless you had no other option.
