Kajak Sport Pro Skeg Kit, NO Flange

Retractable Plastic Skeg System Pro, complete kit, by KajakSport. Best used for kit kayaks and custom install, by an experienced kayak mechanic or skilled handy person. (Warning! Modifications below the water should not be taken lightly.) Kit Includes: injection molded NO Flange skeg box and skeg blade, AISI 316 wire (3mm = 1/8 in.), PA tube (6/4 mm = ¼ in.) and the injection molded skeg control unit with hardware. Comes with detailed instructions for Pro Skeg Kit in English (use link to preview). Read instructions to learn about with flange vs no flange. Skeg box is 15 1/8 inches long. Skeg blade is 14 inches at the longest axis. Control unit is 6 inches long, outside kayak, and 6 7/8 max inside the kayak. The instruction link above will provide schematic diagrams.

IMPORTANT! Do not push the skeg blade into the skeg slot by hand. Only use the slider knob on the control unit to operate the skeg blade. Failure to do so will cause the cable to kink or bend. If this happens a replacement blade and cable will have to purchased. See page 8 of your instructions (link above) for this warning.
