Best used as a replacement drain plug for Pyranha kayaks. This plug might be expected to fit some other brands such as P&H and Venture. It is worth having a spare in your repair kit. Pyranha plug can fit into the Oval Drain Plug Base (aka collar) common on Pyranha, P&H and Venture kayaks.
Expect a color change from Red to Blue. Historically these were Black.
Pyranha drain bungs (part number 50095.01) feature a small 1/16 inch diameter hole molded in the grip for a cord that can be tied to a handle or deck fitting with a cord a prevent loss. The 0.5mm Dyneema Line can be used to tie this Red Plug to the black Oval Drain Plug Base (contact us about that as needed).
The modern Red or Blue drain plugs can to fit into the black base that the older black plugs fit into. See black Drain Plug and Base (aka collar). You can use this plug on both early and late model kayaks, as well as fine thread bases, but cannot be used as a coarse thread plug or with a coarse thread base.
Pyranha kayaks (Venture or P&H kayaks too) were outfitted with a black Drain Plug (part number 5DB20) that fits into a Base (aka collar PPV). Pyranha has Unique Threads. We might call those threads super fine. Any Pyranha drain plug can be retrofit with the common Sea-Dog Drain Plug and Base.
