Use with stainless steel rudder cables to connect cable to rudder wings and or foot controls. Thimbles and shackles are commonly found on some surf skis at the rudder wings or foot controls. Some surf skis use Stainless Steel Thimbles and/or Rudder Shackles on each end of the cable. Some brands of kayaks, such as Prijon, are outfitted with thimbles and shackles connecting cablles to the rudder. Kit Contents: two thimbles and two shackles. Thimble is 7/8 in. long, 3/8 in. inside diameter, 5/32 in. thick, for wire diameter 1/16 - 3/32 inches. Shackle I.D. length 11/16 in., width 3/8 in. Stainless steel with 5/32 in. diameter pin.
This kit can be used with replacement cables for Wilderness Systems kayaks (and other brands) that had rudder cables originally outfitted with eyelets on each end of the cable. Use one pair of Stainless Steel Thimbles and Rudder Shackles on the stern end connection to the rudder wings of Wilderness Systems kayaks for best results.
