Best used as a replacement aftermarket retrofit part to address discontinued skeg parts for kayaks made before and after 2010.
Use as is for OLDER VERSION kayaks (can be used on late models too) as a replacement skeg control knob with the 3/16 inch diameter hole (original part number 3350-0250) and a 10-32 ½ inch stainless steel flat head screw (number 3585-1151). This part is for kayaks made 2003 to 2010. This part is common on Confluence brand sea kayaks, with a steel rod in the control slot, such as the Wilderness Systems Tempest and Zepher, Perception Essence and Dagger Alchemy.
Please Note! To use for kayaks made after 2010 you will drill the hole for the black tube larger. This plastic control knob has a 3/16 inch, SMALL DIAMETER HOLE, for the steel rod to pass though. For kayaks made 2010 to 2015 with a plastic rod in the skeg control slot, you will have to adapt this part with a larger diameter hole 5/16 inch, using a drill.
