Surf ski kayaks commonly are outfitted with a vent plug, to allow the expansion and contraction of air inside the bilge. Hot air expands, while on a sunny sandy beach, and contracts, when placed in cold water. An un-vented, composite surf ski can be damaged if not vented, or can take on water.
Like most sit-on-top kayaks a surf ski has a drain cork to let out bilge water, while on the beach. A breather tube is used in a rubber stopper, but can also be adapted to fit a screw in drain plug. 12 inch tube, ¼ inch diameter. A surf ski is a long skinny racing kayak. A Breather Tube Vent is not recommended for a Wave Ski, a short sit-on surfboard like kayak.
Cork not included. Please select a rubber stopper for use with this tube from the many sizes we stock. Sizes 1-3 are the most common.
