Shock Cord (1/4 inch diameter) is commonly used for both sit-in and sit-on kayak elastic deck rigging, cargo wells, and deck nets. The best use of this Bungee Cord is as a replacement to old, worn deck rigging, adding new deck rigging and custom applications. Most sea kayaks will take 14 to 16 feet of quarter-inch bungee cord in front of the cockpit. A paddle float self-rescue system, behind the cockpit, can be 6 to 8 feet of quarter-inch bungee. Recreational kayaks make take 10 to 12 feet of quarter-inch bungee cord for deck rigging in front of the cockpit. A sit-on-top touring kayak may take about 5 to 10 feet of bungee on the bow or stern deck. 1/4 inch bungee can be used with our Bungee Cord Hooks. Custom deck nets can be made for multiple uses in handy locations on your kayak.
