Kayak Carry Handle, 25 pack

Bulk Pack for fleets! Some Effort is Required! Keep reading. Universal fit!

Best used as replacement handles for kayaks. Kayak carry handles such as these are common on many kayak brands. Found on bow and stern, on the sides of sit-on-top kayaks and in cockpit centers on some sit-on kayaks.

The rubber grip is 5 inches long, webbing strap is 1 in. wide. Strap is a total of 16 inches long. Use extended or tucked inward.

The Screw Holes on the webstrap are not yet meleted! This allows the handle to fit a very wide range of screw spacing. How To: Use an old handle as your sample. Lay out the old and new handle together on a surface. Identify the screw hole locations using the old handle as a guide. Mark the location with a white marker or hot poker. Fold over the strap to make a double thick square for the screw location. Melt screw holes through both layers of strap. Cut of excess length and seal the end with heat to prevent fraying. Can be used as a substitute for part number 9800247. This is a good option for discontinued D-Style Handles. Also sold as singles at this link: Bow-Stern-Side-Handle.

If you are replacing old handles re-use your original screws and washers if possible. If you should need to replace your mounting hardware see our Hardware Catagory. Use screws, washers and nuts, but only if you can reach inside the kayak. Some nuts are molded into the hull, no inside access needed, if yes get only screws and washers. 1/4 - 20 screws and nuts are common. If you cannot reach inside, use rivets and ¾ inch stainless steel washers.

If custom installing new handles, as side grips on a sit-on-top kayak, carefully find the center balance point before drilling any holes. Also check the location to make sure the handle is not in the way of your paddle stroke, or presents a problem during deep-water re-entry.

To prepare for screw removal apply some penetrating oil, such as PB Blaster Penetrating Oil in advance, particularly if exposed to salt water. Penetrating oil loosens corroded screws and nuts. Apply and repeat the application several times.
