Best used as reinforcement for older white water kayaks outfitted with Keepers Foot Braces, circa year 2000 and earlier. These rails are made for the Older Keeper Version Rails! The older rails that we now call Classic Aquaterra Footbrace Rails are a bit narrower than Modern Keepers Foot Brace Rails. If you have the modern version rails you can easily trim the the sides to fit, contact us as needed.
Mounting Screw holes accommodate 14 1/2 inches to 14 5/8 inches. Install is easy, back out foot brace screws, remove rails, apply Magnus, apply rails, fasten back together with screws.
Classic Keepers Foot Braces were common on many brands of kayaks, including Perception, Aquaterra, Mainstream, Dagger and Islander, as well as older Wilderness Systems kayaks. Other brands of kayaks, such as Old Town, P&H Kayaks and Eddyline may also have been outfitted with Keepers, particularly if older (circa 1990s). Might be used on other foot brace rails that are no wider than 1 inch.
Magnums were popular in the mid-1990s as a foot brace upgrade for bigger paddlers on bigger waters, common in sit-in kayaks, also used on some sit-on kayaks for the surf zone.
