Surf to Summit Seat Back Pad
Also known as the Harmony Seat Back Pad, was an option for both Older Aquaterra Kayaks (1990s) and newer Perception kayaks circa early 21st century. All in one, padding and cover. Commonly used as a replacement seat back pad. Harmony Part Numbers; 25061, 8025061, 8023011. This Padded Seat Back Cover straps on to (see photo at top of page and Photo of the Strap Detail.) a hollow molded plastic seat back about 10 inches high (scroll down to Classic Aquaterra Back Support and Classic Perception Seat Back Support). See the Aquaterra - Perception Classic Seat Back Video. This was the final version of seat back padding for this style of seat back. A bungee tension cord and hooks will complete a retrofit.The Padded Seat Back was 14 by 10 inches, made in USA. Substitute with the Tour Backrest Pad for the best results.
Classic Perception Seat Back Cover A
This was common on older Perception models circa year 2000, such as the Carolina. Seat cover was 8.5 inches tall by 13.75 inches wide. This was just the slip cover. It goes on top of a hollow molded feat back structure. Some 3/16 Bungee and possibly a Seat Strap Kit could complete the retrofit. Substitute this seat back cover with the Tour Backrest Pad for the best results. PERRECTOUR
Classic Perception Seat Back Cover B
This was common on older models circa 2003 such as the Sonoma 13.5. Seat cover is 13 inches tall by 14.75 inches wide. This was just the slip cover, with a hood-pocket and elastic strap (not shown). It fit on top of a hollow molded feat back structure. Some 3/16 Bungee and possibly a Seat Strap Kit could complete the retrofit. Substitute this seat back cover with the Tour Backrest Pad for the best results.
Classic Perception Seat Back
This seat back part was common on some Perception kayaks, circa year 2000, such as the Carolina. Fits into a molded seat bottom base with slot molded into the rear edge. Molded seat back was hollow and is about 13 inches wide, about 9 inches tall. The base is 7 1/2 inches wide. Some 3/16 Bungee and possibly a Seat Strap Kit could complete the retrofit. Substitute this seat back support with the High Seat Back Kit (for easy going recreational kayaks) or with any of the sit-in-side style Back Bands (for high performance sea kayaking).
Classic Perception Seat Bottom Pad
This Classic Perception Seat Bottom Pad would be common on older models circa 2003 such as the Sonoma 13.5 and some Dagger kayaks. Seat pad was 16 inches wide by 12.25 inches front to back. There are six holes for Push Rivets (six). The rear two push rivet holes are about 10.75 inches apart. Substitute this seat pad with any of the self-adhesive or strap on Seat Pads, such as the Harmony Tech Lift or Tour Seat Bottom Pad.
Swifty 9.5 Seat Pad Kit
Common on many Perception kayaks such as the Montour and Carolina circa 2005, then re-named for the Perception Sport Swifty 9.5 recreational kayak, made more recently. (Older Swifty kayaks would be outfitted with a self-adhesive seat pad.) This seat bottom pad may have been originally called the AirCore Seat Pad. Secured with 4 short push rivets. The Push Rivets holes on the back edge of seat pad are 10 1/8 inches on center. Push rivet holes on the front edge are 5 1/8 inches on center. Seat pad is 17 x 17 inches. This pad may have fit other kayaks made by Confluence Watersports. Substitute this seat pad with any of the self-adhesive or strap on Seat Pads, such as the Harmony Tech Lift or Tour Seat Bottom Pad. Classic Aquaterra-Perception Seat Back Support
Common as a seat back support for an older Aquaterra sea kayaks, such as the Chinook and Sealion, and Perception kayaks, such as the Eclipse and Shadow. This seat back would have had a yellow nylon cover with velcro and net pocket, for Aquaterra kayaks circa 1990s and the Perception green seat back cover of same construction (see below). A 2nd generation neoprene slip cover with the Perception logo on it was produced circa year 2000. Two prominent nipples were added on the back side of the molded support to prevent slippage of the neoprene cover. The final version seat cover would be the STS Seat Back Pad, aka Harmony seat back pad. This classic Aquaterra Perception seat back support likely adjusts with a rope and cleat on early models, or sometimes a with a strap, later models. A bungee and hook will be needed on the in the rear side to secure the back part to bottom part. Seat Back measures 14.25 inches side to side. Back is almost 9 inches high. Substitute this seat back support with the High Seat Back Kit (for easy going recreational kayaks) or with any of the sit-in-side style Back Bands (for high performance sea kayaking). Substitute the seat back covers mentioned above with the Tour Backrest Pad for the best results.
Perception Neoprene Slip Cover
What we call the 2nd generation neoprene slip cover with the Perception logo was produced circa year 2000. It fit both the Classic Aquaterra Back Support and Classic Perception Seat Back Support (the Perception had two prominent nipples on the rear side.
Classic Perception Seat Back Cover
Common older Perception (and Aquaterra) kayaks, such as the Sea Lion or Chinook, circa year 2000. Made of nylon with foam padding inside and Velcro straps. The Perception Version Seat Back Cover was Green, the Aquaterra was yellow. This seat back cover fit onto the Classic Aquaterra Seat Back, that adjusts with a rope and cleat. It will not go onto a seat back with nipples on the rear side! A bungee and hook secures back structure and are worth replacing too. Seat Back Cover measures 14 inches side to side and 9 inches high. Comes with a net bag on the back. Substitute this seat back cover with the Tour Backrest Pad for the best results.
Classic Aquaterra Back Support
Common as a seat back support for an older Aquaterra sea kayaks, such as the Chinook and Sealion, circa 1990s. Classic Aquaterra Back Support
(PHOTO on Tom's Hard Drive) Common on Aquaterra kayaks, such as the Spectrum, circa early to mid 1990s. Seat Back measures 20 inches side to side, including the nubs that fit into the seat bottom structure. Back is 7.25 inches high and curved. Substitute this seat back support with the Tall Back Back Band.
