Three feet of Bungee Cord, 3/16 in., (sold by the foot) is suggested to replace failing bungee on the rear side.
A broken single tab 05 Rec Kayak Seat Back, C can be replaced (and upgraded) easily with the Perception High Seat Back Kit. Only the Version C back support, yes only the C seat back, can be upgraded with the High Seat Back Kit.
The older Seat Back Version A with three tabs, the two tab 05 Rec Seat Back Version B (part number 9810070) and AirCore inflatable seat components are no longer available. If you have these older versions replace with the generic Tall Back Back Band. If you have the shorter A version, in a touring kayak, replace with a sit-inside style Back Band or the Tall Back Back Band.
It was possible to convert (cut to fit) the Version C into the three-tab Seat Back Version A or the two-tab 05 Rec Seat Back Version B. Use your original seat back as the template (make a cardboard template as needed). Cut corners MUST be rounded.
All versions A, B and C can all be repaired with a Patch Pannel screwed onto the original panel. Contact Us as needed.
The AirCore seat cushions and squeeze pumps are all discontinued. Re-use your inflatable AirCore cushions inside your repaired seat back if applicable. Replace with the Inflatable Lumbar and-or Thigh Support as desired. Beer and Wine Brewing Supply Centers can provide you with plastic tubing and tube clamps to address dysfunctional squeeze ball pumps. While squeeze ball pumps might be available online it could be difficult to ID, source and implement a repair with such. Expect to inflate orally with a tube clamp from a brew supply source.
The 05 Rec Kayak Seat Back, C was best used as a replacement seat back system for Perception and Dagger Recreational kayaks circa 2005 to date. Version C seat back fits Perception kayaks such as the Acadia and Swifty. It may have fit other Perception and Dagger kayaks built both before and after the 2005 model year.
The 05 Rec Kayak Seat Back, both B and C versions were 14 inches high, including base, 15.5 inches wide. The padding is sewn along the edge of the black plastic back panel (applies to A and B versions too). A Web strap loop is sewn onto the back of the seat (see version B link), with two small holes for 3/16 in. bungee cord. The 05 Rec Kayak Seat Back, C was base tab is approximately 9 inches wide, and slips into a long slot on the seat base bottom. (C version alterative part number is 17110011.) The 05 Rec Kayak Seat Back, C was not a slip cover! Some speculation (but no proof!) has been made that the High Seat Back Pad could be used asa slip cover on the 14 inch tall B and C versions.
The version C was NOT a good option for the West Marine Anegada Tandem.
