A spray skirt is essential for those who wish to paddle on rough or open water. While a flat-water paddler may elect to skip a skirt, they might want to consider a half skirt on calm water, maybe for sun protection. Select a nylon skirt for recreational use. Select a neoprene spray skirt for the best performance on rough water, white water rapids and for sea kayaking. Hybrid skirts of nylon and neoprene can be used for both rough water and calm.
