Special TopKayaker extra! This 70P Compass comes with a dual gaskets for plastic or composite kayak installation (video below), applicable to many other kayak brands. A gasket will reduce fitting problems associated with plastic kayaks and some glass kayaks. Kit includes mounting screws and nuts + two 1/16 inch thick gaskets to fine tune thickness. Plastic kayaks typically use one gasket (= 1/16 in.), fiberglass kayaks typically use two gaskets (= 1/8 in.). The gasket kit is based on the original Wilderness Systems rubber gasket kit, part number 3750-0000.
Install Tip: follow enclosed instructions for mounting, then back out screws and blunt the tips with a file and re-mount (do not over tighten!). This will prevent pointed screws from puncturing dry bags. Screws will not affect compass readings.
