Standard rudder cables used on Perception, Dagger and Wilderness Systems kayaks. Fits a wide range of other brand kayaks. Cables are stainless steel, 1/16 in. dia. with eyelet (3/16 in. dia.), approximately 130 inches long (about 10.9 feet). Sold in kit form as replacement cables. One pair of cables per pack with four copper ferrules, shrink tube and instruction sheet. Tools needed: Rudder Cable Crimper Cutter Tool, or... Heavy-duty wire cutters and a large size Vice Grips will do just fine.
Some Wilderness Systems kayaks (and other brands) use a double eyelet cable (eyes on each end). This cannot be duplicated by the consumer (special tool and parts needed). Simply use the Thimble and Shackle Set and connect the thimbles and shackles on the stern end to the rudder wings.
Some surf skis use Stainless Steel Thimbles and/or Rudder Shackles on both ends.
This kit, along with some tools, can be handy in an expedition repair kit. If out of stock substitute with the Generic Replacement Rudder Cables or with Rudder Cable Sold by the Foot.
