Best used as a replacement aftermarket retrofit part to address the discontinued central block and pin for a Perception brand rudder assembly, circa 2000-2003. Might be compatible with FasTrak rudders with a pointed blade aka the Expedition Rudder, that was common on Perception kayaks circa 2006-2009, possibly the later model BTS rudder too. Can be used as a replacement part to match to the older rudder assemblies used on some, but not all, Aquaterra, Dagger, Cobra, some Liquid Logic, older Old Town, and some Heritage, Walden and even some Ocean Kayak models. This part is nearly identical in every way to the black plastic Cobra Rudder Block and Pin.
Overall length, including pin, is 4 13/16 inches. Block is 2 ¼ front to back, ¾ inches thick, 1 3/8 inches high. A single hole is drilled on the end of the pin (for a Rudder Pin Ring). Pin Length, from bottom of block to rudder pin hole is 3 1/2 inches. The depth of the rudder bracket should not exceed 3 1/8 inches. Two 3/16 in. holes (7/8 in. on center) and several slots are machined into the block. You will have to disassemble your rudder and reassemble it without instructions, but it is easy to do.
This is a good option is to restore some, but not all, Long Pin style rudder assemblies. This is not a match to the older Aquaterra 3-Screw Rudder Block and Pin. RBAP
