Important backrest info for older kayaks: The rear straps of this seat can be converted with plastic buckles to fit older Ocean Kayak models made in the 1990s and before 2005. It is a very simple procedure. All you need are some 1.5-inch side release buckles to replace the brass clips. Alternatively you can add strap eyes behind your seat and use the brass snaps that are common on all modern sit-on-top kayak seats.
