Anchors

An anchor can come in handy when kayak fishing. Typically the average kayak fisherman will need a 1.5 anchor and about 30-50 feet of line. An anchor trolley is very helpful too. A drift chute is good for deep open water, and for a gradual drift down wind. A surface anchor is a simple cord, used to clip your boat to kelp, a buoy, pier or other stationary object. A sand stake can be used in shallow water. See the related article in How to make an Anchor Line.
