Necky Kayaks brand rudder kit is best used for sit-in kayaks made in 2013 to date. Can be used for Necky Tandem kayaks (or use an Old Town or Necky tandem kit with a larger blade). The aluminum alloy used in the Necky rudder assembly can take lots of abuse, bending, and re-bending before it breaks. With care this aluminum rudder should last a lifetime. When deployed you use the foot pedals to guide the kayak, turning the blade right or the left.
