Use knee straps for performance and control. If you surf ocean waves, run rapid rivers, paddle rough waters or want extra control, knee straps are for you. When you use Knee Straps you can even Eskimo roll a sit-on-top kayak! You will need strap eyes mounted on the sides of your cockpit, near the hips and feet.
Knee Straps are also called Thigh Braces, Leg Straps, and Thigh Straps. We like the term knee straps at TopKayaker, but leg straps is probably the most descriptive term to use. Thigh braces can be confused with sit-in-side gear. Related articles: How to Use Backrests, Knee Straps and Paddle Leashes and How to Choose Backrests, Knee Straps and Paddle Leashes.
