The Wind Paddle Sailing Kit is best used for kayak and canoe sailing. Parts can be used as you see fit. The Clam Cleats mount on either side of the cockpit, back below your elbows, with the clam jaws down (so they angle up to the top of the sail and keep the lines cleated). They come with screws and nuts. If you cannot reach inside your kayak get a pack of 8-32 no. 8 Well-Nuts and 8-32 screws secure the with.
The kit comes with two 7 foot, 1/8 inch dia., control lines (also called sheets) that replace the original 8 foot continuous control line. You can tie a lightweight thread between the ends of the two lines so you can snag them both at once should they run free. This thread connection acts as a breakable link if the lines are across your lap and you need to exit in a hurry with the sheets cleated.
Also included is a paddle leash, a must have item for kayak sailing and a safety whistle, smart to have any time.
