Waterproof Bags

Roll-top dry bags are the expedition kayaker’s standard to keep cargo dry. Small bags are best for tight hatches and small items. Have one set aside for every day items and another for things you will not need until you return to civilization. Medium bags are great for clothing, foodstuff, repair and 1st aid kits. The large and long bags are best for camping gear tents and bedding. Store stoves and fuel separate from food and other gear in a small bag. Use taper bags for the light cargo in the bow and stern ends. Clear bags allow you to see what is inside, handy for lots of loose items. Double-check the hatch size you plan to stow your bag into. The link below has tips on how to handle small hatches and large bags. Related Article: "Packing Your Kayak"
